THE UPMC RINK AT PPG PLACE RULES

  • Spectators and participants assume all inherent risks while skating.
  • Skaters skate at their own risk.
  • A rink-issued wristband is required to enter the ice rink.
  • Patrons must follow all announcements by the ice attendants and directions of the skate-guards on duty must be obeyed at all times.
  • No one is permitted on the ice during resurfacing.
  • No one is permitted on the ice without skates.
  • Skates must be worn to enter the ice surface.
  • Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Please stay on the rubber flooring while wearing ice skates.
  • Announcements must be adhered to at all times by skaters.
  • The rink reserves the right to interrupt, stop or cancel ice skating sessions.
  • No sitting, climbing or leaning over the railings or sideboards/dasher-boards.
  • No racing, speed skating, playing tag or horseplay is allowed during public sessions.
  • No skating against the flow of traffic.
  • No using hockey sticks, pucks or balls.
  • Skating across traffic or cutting in front of other skaters is prohibited.
  • Eating, drinking and smoking are not permitted on the ice surface.
  • Jumps and spins will be confined to center ice and at the discretion of management. Jumps are not permitted during busy public sessions.
  • Skaters should avoid stopping on ice next to sideboards as beginners need to use this area for support. Beginner skaters should skate along the sideboards.
  • No profane language, obscene or indecent clothing is allowed.
  • Report any incident, accident or injury to the ice management immediately.
  • No more than two skaters may join hands; chain skating is not permitted.
  • No carrying a child, other people or articles while on the ice.
  • Secure all personal belongings; the rink is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
  • Please be considerate of others at all times.
  • The rink follows a Zero Tolerance Policy.
